The Caddis hatch continues along the entire river and fishing has remained excellent, especially in the middle sections of the canyon. Fishing has been fairly inconsistent in the lower sections near Pilar. Unlike most years, the fishing has been good mid-day to evening especially on cloudy days. (usually good fishing is only in the evening). We have had several guide trips out this week and they have all been VERY successful. Personally, I fished the racecourse section Tuesday evening and did only fair. It’s a fine line between hero and zero during the caddis hatch!
hatch fished better above John Dunn bridge Sat. Caddis coming off around 2.30 thru evening. More action on dry flies than on the swing, schweet.
